Tool 4

I placed both a document and a form on Google docs and invited members of the staff on my famous to respond. The first response came very quickly and I am awaiting other responses. I think using this section of Google could help share information with students as well as being an avenue to communicate with the students homes. I also think this tool will be useful for collaboration with fellow teachers when time does not allow a face to face conversation.

Tool 3

The video below was from U-Tube and I think it would work well in a unit on probability.  Compound probability

For fun in math class in the begining of the year, this video shows how mistakes can be made in the thinking of math!

In the tool exploration it was interesting to look at the copyright rules. Fair use and referencing are part of the masters program and there. Was little that was new. The dropbox tool is great and I could see being able to put information  into this spot for my students to use from home!

Tool 2

The professional blogs I found interesting were ideasfortheclassroom.wordpress.com, magicalmiddleschoolmath.blogspot.com and mathalicious.com.. All three allow feeds for new and updated blogs and contain great ideas!
Also, got a Google Reader account!

Thing 2

Wordle vs Wordsift. I so liked Wordle! I think my students could use this in math class to create vocabulary that they would like much better than the traditional sheets or puzzles. If they are required to create definitions that are art of the poster they will be creatively creating their own vocabulary!
Glogster and Voice Thread are different enough to be appealing different students. I am not sure that all will be savvy enough to and Voice Threads and am not certain all would like the glogster but both offer collaboration that rocks!
Animoto is cool. Imagine a project that kids can take all their photos and set them to music! I can not imagine a student who wouldn't like to play with it!
Bokr! I love this - what a great way to take a report and dice it up. The kids can all make it totally their own! I think this would work for my own travel journal while out exploring on a road trip A few minutes each night to add a page? Cool!

Here we go again!

Thing 1 for 11.5 More things!
I am amazed how difficult it was to re access this blog and how long it has been since I have been here. I am looking forward to seeing if I can actual create movies and teach it to my students!

Let the fun begin!
